Sick of me writing about Star Wars yet?
German site Starwars-Union.de claims to have a source deep within Hasbro, the toy company that will be bringing you the new Star Wars Universe for decades to come. They claim that their source attended a strategy session that laid out the Star Wars property like this:
- Fall 2014: Rebels
- 2015: Episode VII
- 2016: Boba Fett
- 2017: Episode VIII
- 2018: Solo
- 2019: Episode IX
- 2020: Red Five
I was present at this years ToyFair for Hasbro's Rebels presentation, they're gonna hit the series hard for all that sweet, sweet action figure money. Then it looks like each year is dedicated to pushing a new spin-off.
A Boba Fett spin-off has been the most consistently reported, a young Han Solo movie was mentioned back at the same time a Yoda spin-off was being contemplated. The biggest surprised is Red Five, Luke's call sign in the Rebel Alliance during A New Hope. Are they...are they re-casting Luke in 2020? Are we going to be okay with that in 2020?
Anyway, keep in mind this may also be changing or innaccurate. As StarWars-Union.de claims on their post: "zu einer gesunden Portion Skepsis raten, scheinen die uns vorliegenden Informationen überzeugend zu sein."
