Fox Announces Release Dates For 'Wolverine' And 'Fantastic Four' Sequels

– by Laura Frances

The Wolverine 20th Century Fox is getting ambitious with its release dates. The studio has revealed its upcoming slate for sequels to Wolverine and Fantastic Four.

Even though the Fantastic Four reboot has yet to begin shooting, the studio announced that The Fantastic Four 2 will open July 14, 2017. Meanwhile, an untitled Wolverine film will open March 3, 2017.

But perhaps the most mysterious date on the roster is an untitled Marvel film set for July 13, 2018. There are so many possibilities. Could this be a crossover film between X-Men and the Fantastic Four? What do you think?

The Wolverine sequel will be directed by James Mangold. The Fantastic Four film recently locked down its cast, which includes Kate Mara as Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch, Jamie Bell as The Thing and Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic. The film is set to hit theaters June 19, 2015.

Fox also announced that Taken 3 will hit theaters January 9, 2015. There's also an unnamed Ridley Scott film set for March 4, 2016. Could this be the Prometheus sequel?

Here's the complete list of release dates:
