Warner Brothers’ bigger plan for Ben Affleck is being revealed.
Not only Affleck will be batman for the studio’s next Superman movie, Deadline has reported the multi-talented actor will star and direct its “big-scale actioner” film set in Africa. The studio hired Will Staples (“Myth”) to pen the project.
According to Deadline, the story is about a mercenary group hunting down an African warlord who is abusing his own people.
The film is “an examination of the moral ambiguities of how philanthropy and foreign assistance veers into modern-day neocolonialism.”
The untitled project will be developed through Pearl Street Films with Affleck, Matt Damon and Jennifer Todd as producers.
