Director Peter Jackson Answers 'Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' Questions About Crafting A Middle Film, Mirkwood And Logistics
Director Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) published this Q & A video today in which he answers previously recorded questions from fans about his latest film The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
Also included, is video of the production. Scroll to the very bottom to look at photos of what's new, thanks to MTV for the screenshots.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is coming December 13, 2013.
Jackson fields a question from a particular celebrity fan and also gives a sneak peek at what Mirkwood (scroll to the very bottom) will look like.
The first question that he answers is regarding how he will turn this middle portion of the book into a film. This is a question that has come up in many Hobbit fan circles.
Jackson answers that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was a "fairly linear film" and that the upcoming The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug "starts splitting into multiple storylines" and that "we can follow different characters as the story intensifies and the stakes go up".
Hopefully this means we will get an extended look at the character Beorn (played by Swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt).
