After Great Success With "Everybody Hates Chris", Chris Rock Will Direct His Third Feature Film

– by Alex Corey

chrisss Deadline reports that comedian Chris Rock (Everybody Hates Chris, I Think I Love My Wife) will direct his third film, which remains untitled, with Scott Rudin and Barry Diller set to finance it. The film has simply been described as an:

"...edgy showbiz-themed comedy with romance"

Rock last directed the film I Think I Love My Wife in 2007 to mostly negative reviews. That film was co-written by Rock and Louie C.K.

It is unknown if this new film, written by Rock, had any additional writers.

Rock had massive success as the co-creator of the television show (based loosely on his life) Everybody Hates Chris (2005-2009). He was a contributing writer and directed at least one of the episodes.

I'm excited to see the cast for his new film. His past two films have co-starred: Bernie Mac, Tracy Morgan, Kerry Washington and Steve Buscemi. Also, his television show Everybody Hates Chris had a great ensemble cast and was fun to watch (Terry Crews, Tichina Arnold, Tyler James Williams, among others).

The film will begin shooting in New York in June.

Rock will be seen later this year in the upcoming Adam Sandler ensemble Grown Ups 2.
