Who Will Star In 'Carrie'? It's Down To Two Actresses.

– by Philip Sticco

I'll never understand why Hollywood wants to remake movies like Carrie, when there are more than a few Stephen King novels and short stories yet to be adapted. The Eyes of the Dragon would make a great fantasy film. Anyway, let's talk about this Carrie remake.

The filmmakers have narrowed their choices down to two actresses: Chloe Grace Moretz and Haley Bennett. At fifteen Moretz is the more age appropriate choice. Bennett is twenty-four. Rumor has it The Descendants Shailene Woodley was offered the role, but turned it down.
There is also word that director Kimberly Peirce wants Jodie Foster or Julianne Moore for the role of Carrie's crazy, overbearing religious mother.
Here's the plot of King's book for those unfamiliar with it:
An unpopular teenage girl whose mother is a religious fanatic is tormented and teased to the breaking point by her more popular schoolmates and uses her hidden telekinetic powers to inflict a terrifying revenge.
Who would you like to see as Carrie and her mother? Personally I'd like Moretz and Foster.
