Danielle Trusoni's 'Angelology' Gets A Blacklisted Writer

– by Philip Sticco

You may or may not know this, but I'm going to tell you anyway. Every year a list of unproduced screenplays comes out. It's called "The Blacklist" and the scripts on it are considered the best unproduced screenplays floating around Hollywood. Sometimes the scripts become great films like The Social Network and sometimes they become Hancock. Larry Brenner wrote one of this year's blacklist scripts, titled Bethlehem, and while that film may be unproduced (for now), he is still getting other jobs because of it.

Deadline New York is reporting Sony Pictures has hired Brenner to write the script for Danielle Trusoni's novel Angelology, which is being produced by Will Smith and James Lassiter's Overbrook Entertainment, as well as Marc Forster's Apparatus.

The synopsis:

"Angelology revolves around a 23-year old nun who teams with an angelologist to thwart a group that tries to destroy mankind by harnessing the destructive powers of a race of angel/human hybrids."

So, the real question is, will Will Smith appear as the angelologist? More importantly how will he shoehorn in his wildly original catchphrase "Aw, hell no!" into this film?
